About
Cemu runs nearly the whole Wii U library and is known for its graphics packs: community patches that add resolution options, framerate unlocks and quality tweaks per game. It went open source in 2022 and now ships for Windows, macOS and Linux.
No games or keys are included. You dump games from your own Wii U, and encrypted dumps need the keys from your own console.
- Near-complete Wii U compatibility
- Graphics packs for resolution, framerate and quality options
- Vulkan and OpenGL renderers
- Open source since 2022
What you need
The emulator contains none of this. It comes from hardware you own and stays on your machine.
Dumps and keys from your own Wii U
Game dumps made with your own console. Encrypted dumps need the console keys written to keys.txt.
Setup
- 1
Extract the archive and open Cemu.
- 2
Follow the setup wizard, then add the folder holding your dumps.
- 3
If your dumps are encrypted, add the keys from your own console to keys.txt next to the executable.
- 4
Download graphics packs from the Options menu for per-game resolution settings.
