About
DuckStation is the PlayStation emulator most people reach for on PC: accurate enough to pass the demanding test suites, fast enough for weak hardware, and with internal resolution scaling, PGXP geometry correction and widescreen hacks that make 1995 games look remarkably good.
It ships no games and no firmware. You need the BIOS dumped from your own PlayStation and disc images of discs you own. Note that upstream publishes under a single rolling tag that is replaced with each update, so the pinned hash tracks the most recent refresh.
- High accuracy with hardware and software renderers
- Internal resolution upscaling and PGXP geometry correction
- Texture replacement and widescreen
- Rolling releases straight from upstream
What you need
The emulator contains none of this. It comes from hardware you own and stays on your machine.
PlayStation BIOS from your own console
DuckStation will not start a game without a BIOS image dumped from a PlayStation you own.
Disc images of your own games
BIN/CUE, CHD or similar dumps of discs you own.
Setup
- 1
Extract the archive (or run the installer) and open DuckStation.
- 2
Follow the setup wizard: point it at the folder holding your BIOS dump and the folder holding your disc images.
- 3
Pick a game from the grid to start it.
