About
OpenGOAL is one of the most ambitious decompilations in the scene. Naughty Dog wrote the Jak games in GOAL, a custom Lisp, so the team had to rebuild the compiler itself before they could rebuild the games. Jak and Daxter and Jak II are complete; Jak 3 is in progress.
The OpenGOAL Launcher is the easy path: install it, point it at an ISO of your own disc, and it extracts the assets, compiles the game and keeps it updated. The launcher contains no game data.
- Jak and Daxter and Jak II fully playable
- Native resolution, widescreen and high framerate
- Mod support with texture replacement and custom levels
- The launcher handles extraction, compilation and updates
What you need
The port contains none of the game. These come from your own copy and stay on your machine.
An ISO of your Jak and Daxter disc
Dumped from your own PlayStation 2 copy. The NTSC-U black label release is the best supported. Jak II needs its own ISO.
The launcher validates the ISO itself and tells you which release it recognised. Source of these fingerprints
