About
The Perfect Dark PC port compiles the n64decomp project for modern platforms. It plays like Perfect Dark was always meant to: proper mouse and keyboard, widescreen, and a framerate the original hardware could never reach, with the campaign, co-op, counter-op and multiplayer all intact.
Builds are published continuously from the development branch. The download contains no game data; you drop your own ROM into a folder next to the executable.
- Mouse look and modern FPS controls
- Widescreen and high framerate
- Campaign, co-op, counter-op and split screen
- Rolling builds straight from upstream development
What you need
The port contains none of the game. These come from your own copy and stay on your machine.
Perfect Dark ROM
A ROM dumped from your own cartridge. The NTSC US 1.1 (ntsc-final) release is the primary target; US 1.0, JPN and PAL work with their matching executables.

Setup
- 1
Extract the downloaded archive into a folder of your choosing.
- 2
Create a folder named data next to the pd executable (pd.x86_64.exe on 64-bit Windows) if it is not already there.
- 3
Copy your NTSC ROM into it and name the file pd.ntsc-final.z64.
- 4
Run the pd executable. For a PAL or JPN ROM, name it pd.pal-final.z64 or pd.jpn-final.z64 and run the pd.pal or pd.jpn executable instead.
