About
Zelda 64: Recompiled is the project that introduced static recompilation to the N64 scene. Instead of hand-decompiling the game, the N64 machine code is translated to C and compiled natively, then paired with the RT64 renderer so framebuffer effects, the Lens of Truth and the grayscale cutscenes all look exactly as they did on hardware.
There is no extraction step. The download is the complete port; you select your North American ROM from the main menu and the game loads assets from it directly.
- Every N64 graphical effect rendered accurately through RT64
- Runs at your monitor refresh rate; framerate does not affect gameplay
- Widescreen, gyro aiming and dual-analog camera
- Autosave and instant load times
- Steam Deck ready
What you need
The port contains none of the game. These come from your own copy and stay on your machine.
